Fred received his Masters of Science Degree in Structural Engineering in 1974 from Northeastern University and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1967. Fred has over 45 years of diverse experience in design, engineering, and construction of commercial and industrial buildings / structures, office parks, residential – single and multi-family homes, drainage, roads, bridges, site planning, and structural evaluations and assessments. He worked for Stone and Webster Engineering Inc. for 20 years as a civil and structural project engineer before opening his own company, Emanuel Engineering Inc., in 1988.
Memberships – Structural Engineers of NH, American Concrete Institute, American Wood Council, American Institute of Steel Construction, International Code Council, Rotary International, and Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce.
Boards – NH Joint Board for Licensing for Manufactured Housing Installations, UNH College of Engineering & Physical Sciences Alumni Society, Seacoast School of Technology Advisory, and Provident Bank Corporator.

In 1996, Bruce graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Biological Engineering. He holds a designer’s license for subsurface systems and a surveyor-in-training certificate in NH. In 2003, Bruce became a Professional Engineer in NH. He has civil and site experience in project management, septic design, boundary research, site plans, foundation certification, drainage studies, and structural drafting. Bruce excels at designing sites complementing environmentally positive site designs with clients to help navigate the regulatory approval process. He has been with the firm since 1997 and can help you get the most out of your project.

Bob received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1995. As a structural and architectural engineer with over 20 years of experience, Bob is involved with design, engineering, and project management. He uses multiple design systems of wood, steel, light gage metal, concrete, masonry, and pre-cast concrete. Since joining Emanuel Engineering, Inc. in 2001, Bob produces design drawings, shop drawing review, performs site visits, and prepares reports for clients.
Memberships – American Institute of Steel Construction, Granite State Baseball League board, player, & coach.

Jonathan (JJ) MacBride, P.E. — Civil / Structural Engineer

JJ received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2012 and Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 2013 from the University of New Hampshire. In 2017, JJ became a Professional Engineer in NH. He has experience with septic design, boundary research, site development plans, drainage studies, and structural design. JJ is also responsible for conducting survey fieldwork, preparing civil drawings, and obtaining project approvals through permitting and engineering.

Max received his bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, as well as earned his Engineer in Training certification (EIT) in 2013. In the six years since his graduation, Max has experience in concrete, wood, light gauge metal, masonry and steel design and construction, as well as collaborating with architects, contractors and project owners. At Emanuel Engineering, Max prepares structural drawings, performs structural calculations, reviews shop drawings, performs site visits, and prepares reports for clients.

Myles Virgin, EIT – Civil / Structural Engineer

Myles graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Working as a field engineer for Harvey Construction during his college summers, Myles had the opportunity to experience, gain, and implement engineering and project management skills in real-world applications. Myles received his EIT certification shortly after graduating from UNH. He is continually preparing for the PE exam which he will be eligible to take in 2022. Some of Myles’ experience includes: structural design, preparing civil & structural drawings, survey fieldwork, and project management.

Karen L. Stroup – Office Manager

Karen received her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the State University of New York in Potsdam. Prior to joining Emanuel Engineering Inc. in 1996, she was a cost engineer for power plant construction in Ohio and a bank accountant in Pennsylvania. As the office manager for Emanuel Engineering Inc., she is responsible for payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the monthly reconciliation of income and expenses. Karen calculates and completes all quarterly forms for FICA, SUTA, and FUTA payroll taxes. She also prepares invoices, correspondence, and spreadsheets for the company.
Activities / Interests – Exeter Area Women’s Club volunteer, reading, golfing, and traveling.
David F. Emanuel, P.E. – Senior Professional Civil Engineer, Project Manager

Dave graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1997 with dual degrees in Civil Engineering and Business Administration. In 2004, he became a Professional Engineer in NH. He also holds a designer’s license for subsurface systems and is a surveyor-in-training in NH. Dave is a certified firefighter, fire instructor, fire officer, and emergency medical technician. He has civil and site experience in field surveying, engineering design, construction layout, inspection, project management and field supervision of residential and commercial construction. He is currently the Assistant Fire Chief for the Town of Durham.
Memberships – Stratham Public Safety Complex Building Committee and Exeter Brass Band.
Activities / Interests – Stratham Town Moderator and Assistant Director for Stratham Office of Emergency Management. He also enjoys backpacking, hiking, biking, skiing, and the outdoors.
